'Lightspeed' is the first single from Steve Leaf & The Ex Pats upcoming EP of the same name. Recorded at Gravity Studios in November '14, this track is the first release from the Ex Pats in their new four piece arrangement. Joe Ridgway joined Steve, Nick, and Dan in May of 2014 and helped the sound evolve by bringing synthesizer into the band. In addition, this track also finds the band heading in a much more aggressive direction, a slight departure from their debut 'Three Circles & A Speaker'.

He travels fast, too fast and he knows
All of friends tell him he needs to slow
If you lived in his head, maybe you’d understand
Why he does what he does, why he says what he says

Please come fast

He lives in a room, no a box, no a tomb
No, a place without walls under a full moon
He wrote time is a song, that can't be too long
A refrain we could sing all damn day long

Please come fast

This place is just too beautiful for me
And I think I’d prefer to live at lightspeed
